Good afternoon all, I hope you've all had a lovely May and survived the first heatwave of the year (in the UK at least). Welcome to this month's devlog. I'll give you a quick update as to what the team have been up throughout May and what we've got planned for June.
New puzzles for London
May has been a big month for boxing off the bulk of the London section of the game. We're very close to having a full playable build that covers the next couple of hours of the game you'd have access to after completing the prologue.
Our artist Kater has been hard at work creating amazing assets for our London puzzles and we're really excited for you to try them out. In this act, we have 3 parallel streams of investigation for you to follow, each of which have their own puzzles to solve throughout. If you're able to make your way through all of these lines of enquiry, you'll gain access to a very special area that's been hidden in plain sight for years...

Not wanting to give away too many spoilers, I'll only discuss one of these new puzzles for now. As part of her investigation, Kyra needs to help family friends Aeris and Terra to fix their hoverboard in exchange for a key piece of evidence. Their hoverboard, sadly, has started to fall apart after a misadventure through the local market...
While we were designing this puzzle, Kater went on a her own investigative journey into how hoverboards work. Her new found expertise was instrumental as we decided which parts of the machine we could realistically disassemble in order to design a puzzle with realistic parts. She's never touched a hoverboard in her life, but she is now confident that she could fix one!

Helping the boys to fix their hoverboard is just one of the new puzzles you'll find within London.
A new playtest looms
After all of the progress we've been making with finishing the London section of Mithra, we're preparing a closed playtest for this new act on Steam.

If you'd like to help us build Mithra and get early access to this new area of the game, please sign up on our Steam page and you'll be notified when the playtest is ready. We really appreciate the help that the community has given already online and at live events, so we need your help to ensuring this new section of the game meets our and your expectations. We're aiming for a June 2026 release for this playtest, so not long to go at all!

Games Growth Program
This week I'm heading down to London to meet up with the cohort from this year's UKIE VGGP accelerator at our summer social, I'm really looking forward to having the chance to catch up with everyone and learn about their progress since the end of the program.
Following that, I'll be at the Games Growth Summit with my business director hat on. It's been a tough couple of years in the games industry so events like this well hopefully help me and the rest of the Seventh Disorder team to continue to run our studio in a responsible way that secures the future of the studio past the release of Mithra and through development of our next planned title - more about this at the end of the year!

That's all for now, remember if you want to help support Mithra. Please share our details with your friends. You can either:
- Share our Kickstarter page, we're in the final stages of designing our rewards and will be launching soon!
- Share our Steam page, wishlist the game and sign up to be part of the upcoming playtest
- Join our Discord server to have direct access to the dev team and speak about what we've been up to.
Thanks for reading and see you next time.
